Heian Jingu

10 minutes away on foot, Heian is a beautiful shrine known for the Festival of the Ages in October. The entrance boasts one of the largest torii gates in Japan.

Chion-In Temple

Only 8 minutes away on foot, Chion-in is the head temple of the Jodo-Shinshu sect of Japanese Buddhism. It has a very large ceremonial bell and beautiful gardens.

12 minutes away in the direction of the Gion district, this shrine is famous for cherry blossoms in the spring, and it is the gateway to the historical walk going to Kiyomizu-dera.

Walk the cobblestone streets from Yasaka-Jinja for a wonderful half day of photography and beautiful scenery.
